HRW Submission to Universal Periodic Review of Turkey

Human Rights Watch has published its submission to the Universal Periodic Review of Turkey for 2010. The submission covers key topics such as freedom of expression, association and assembly; minority rights; LGBT rights; torture, ill-treatment, and killings by security forces as well as upholding the rule of law and combating impunity.The Review recommends that the Turkish Government, amongst other actions, “[r]evise the constitution to ensure no provisions impede the enjoyment of fundamental rights and freedoms and rule of law in Turkey”.
