Emily is currently pursuing a MSc in Gender at the London School of Economics and Political Science. In June 2011, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, USA with a BA in Anthropology modified with Women's and Gender Studies and minors in Government and Theatre. For her undergraduate honours thesis, she conducted an ethnographic study in Dublin, Ireland on the lives of Catholic nuns, focusing on their involvement in issues of social justice and political participation. She is a recipient of Dartmouth's Reynolds Scholarship for Graduate Study. Emily has been an intern with ISCI since November 2011.

Alicia recently obtained her LLM in Criminal Law, Criminal justice and Criminology from King's College London with Distinction. Additionally, Alicia completed internships with ISCI and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Vienna alongside her studies. Alicia holds an Honours degree in Law and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Canterbury, and was admitted to the bar in New Zealand in 2008. She subsequently practised as a solicitor for two and a half years before moving to London to pursue her interests in international justice. Alicia has been ISCI's research project manager since November 2011.

Diane is currently studying towards her LLM in Public International Law at King's College London. Diane graduated from Université Montesquieu Bordeaux IV, France, with a Bachelor of Law and Political sciences with honours and also holds a Master of Law with honours from City University London. Diane specialized in criminal justice through internships at the Khmer Rouge Tribunal in Cambodia and with Human Rights Watch on the case against Hissène Habré. Diane has been an ISCI intern since October 2011.

Rita recently graduated from King’s College London with an MA in Criminology and Criminal Justice. She holds a BA in Contemporary European Studies and Languages from the University of East Anglia and an LLM in International Law from the University of Edinburgh. Rita is especially interested in international human rights law, capital punishment, and the prohibition of torture. In 2010, she completed the Amicus/Reprieve US Death Penalty Training and participated in their casework. She subsequently wrote her MA thesis on the death penalty and torture, focussing on the process of dehumanisation. Rita has been an ISCI intern since February 2012.

Francesca is a postgraduate student at King’s College London taking the MA in Criminology and Criminal Justice. She has had a varied educational background having completed her BA (Hons) degree at the University of Cambridge in Arabic, French, Criminology, International Politics, and Southeast Asian politics. She has also studied Arabic at the University of Damascus. As well as continuing her study of languages with Arabic and Polish, Francesca’s academic interests include the experience of foreign nationals in the criminal justice system, immigration and counter-terrorism legislation, transnational crime and international human rights. Francesca has been an ISCI intern since January 2012.

Sofia has contributed to the EU-related press sector in Brussels. She worked as a volunteer editor for EU-logos Athena, writing articles in the areas of freedom, equality and justice in the EU. She also worked as an EU correspondent for the French news agency Presse Infos Plus, reporting changes in EU health legislation. Sofia is currently completing the LLM in Public International Law at King's College London. She holds a BA in Law from the Facultés Universitaires Saint-Louis and a second-class honours LLM in European Law from the Université Catholique de Louvain and Universidad de Oviedo (Erasmus exchange program). Her last dissertation, 'From amendment 138 to the Internet Freedom Provision - the integration of a European protection of fundamental rights in the sphere of electronic communications', was sent for publication by her supervisor to the law journal 'Auteurs & Media'. Sofia has been an ISCI intern since October 2011.

Jaina is currently an Undergraduate student studying towards a BA in Philosophy at the University of Essex. Jaina recently completed a final year semester abroad from August 2011 to December 2011, at the Claremont Colleges in Los Angeles California. Having studied a range of modules including Philosophy of Feminism, Philosophy and Human Rights, Medical Ethics and the Philosophy of Literature, Jaina has developed an interest in controversial text publications regarding International State Crime, in addition to being particularly interested in the prohibition of Torture, Genocide and Political corruption. Jaina has been an ISCI intern since February 2012.

Geetanjali is currently pursuing an MA in Criminology and Criminal Justice from King's College London. She holds a first class BA (Hons) degree in Psychology from the University of Delhi, India. Geetanjali has worked/volunteered with a number of non-profit organizations involved in socio-economic development; prisons; and slum rehabilitation. Her main interests include international human rights law, counter-terrorism policies; youth justice and State Crime. Geetanjali joined ISCI as an intern in January 2012.

Charlie is currently in the final year of his Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics with English Language and Literature at King’s College London. He has studied political theory and international relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science, focusing especially on the role of the European Union in global affairs. For his undergraduate dissertation he is exploring the misinterpretation of Thucydides as a Realist thinker by international relations theorists and the extent to which this misreading has been used to justify military interventions in the 21st Century. Charlie plans to commence his MSc in EU Politics and Government at LSE in October. He has been an intern with ISCI since November 2011.
