Penny Green and Chris Williams gave a presentation at the London 'Occupy' campaign's Tent City University on 21st November about state crime and researching powerful people. The audience included activists, tourists, students from a media course at City University, graduates from LSE, and a man who wanted to eat his fish and chips on our seats. The discussion was great, and people asked how the macro theories about state crime could be linked to micro research, how Israel fitted, and why we concentrated on 'other' countries rather than the state crimes of the UK. The main message from ISCI was the need to gather good evidence and arguments about state crime, to strengthen advocacy and campaigning.
