SCREENING: Burma VJ: Reporting from a Closed Country with Q&A

**Please note you can watch the Q&A session here**

Burma VJ reveals the incredible bravery of Burmese video journalists (VJ’s) during the 2007 Saffron Revolution. Going beyond the occasional news clip from Burma, this documentary brings us close to Burma’s video journalists who insisted on keeping up the flow of news from their closed country despite risking torture and life in jail. Armed with small handycams they make their undercover reports, smuggle the material out of the country, have it broadcast back into Burma via satellite and offered as free usage for international media. Many agree that their footage kept the Saffron Revolution alive.

The event was followed by a Q&A session and a drinks reception.

The event was generously supported by Kings College London’s Public Engagement Department.
